Background
USAID’s “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” (QITABI -2) is a five-year program seeking to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools in Lebanon. Its activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools.
World Learning has an immediate vacancy for its Beirut-based “Program Implementation Officer” for the USAID-funded Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI II) in Lebanon. This position is for a Lebanese national.
Scope and Responsibilities
• Provide daily administrative support and logistical support
• Assist and support in the implementation of the program activities at the field level;
• Assist in the backstopping of the department in close collaboration with Program Manager and Regional Coordinators
• Report regularly to the Program Director all field related activities and issues, and adapt and adjust as necessary
• Support the Regional Coordinator(s) in the field activities
• Produce meeting minutes when engaged in meetings and provide the proper support for the collection of M&E data and the use of M&E tools such as surveys and questionnaires in the field
• In consultation with the Program Manager and Regional Coordinators, support in the coordination of the delivery of resources materials to the targeted schools
• Arrange training venues and conferences; schedule appointments and meetings for internal and external events
• Facilitate the department administration and support in the delivery of program activities that support access to quality education
• Write quarterly reports describing field activity, documenting lessons learnt, best practices, and case studies
• Report on regular programmatic activities and document all necessary data
• Represent WL team at meetings and conferences as needed
Required Qualifications:
• A degree in Education, development or related field
• 2-years in Project management and administration experience is required
• Good understanding of education concepts and issues in development context
• Demonstrable capacities with hands-on experience in report writing, analytical pieces desirable
• Good analytical skills with good planning and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent proficiency in oral and written communication skills in English and preferably Arabic
• Proven performance in organizing and coordinating major initiatives, events or challenging inter-organizational activities
• Adapts flexibly to changing situations, overcomes obstacles and recovers quickly from set-backs
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability
• Strong IT skills
