Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in 1971. Today, MSF provides independent, impartial assistance in more than 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, and exclusion from health care or natural disasters. MSF in Lebanon currently has 2 projects mainly on primary health care and mental health, in Tripoli and the Bekaa valley.

– Salary: 1,796,683 LBP
-Scope of responsibility:
Coordinating and controlling the operation of vehicles in one location according to traffic regulations and MSF security rules and ensuring that the team of drivers perform properly their duties to ensure an adequate, efficient, and safe transport of goods and people.
-Function responsibilities include:
- Transporting MSF personnel and material ensuring their safety.
- Supervising the team of drivers and monitoring and evaluating their performance, ensuring compliance with all rules, safety regulations and MSF instructions, as well as the maintenance and service of their assigned vehicles which includes preparing and overseeing the drivers' work schedule, ensuring daily and weekly checks of vehicles and the correct filling in of administration and vehicle logbook;
- Performing monthly checks of the vehicle inventory, documentation and first aid kit together with the responsible driver and conducting a driving test for all new drivers. Performing regular drivers' assessments.
- Coordinating and supervising the associated resources (drivers) and fleet management to ensure adequate service in terms of organizing availability of drivers, vehicles to drive, duty rosters and replacements in case of absence, and fuel control. Organizing training courses for drivers
- Checking and ensuring that safety procedures are met in vehicles to ensure that transportation is in the best conditions of safety for travelers.
- Reporting any problems with the vehicles (mechanical, accidents…) to the line manager / technical referent as well as preparing monthly reports on services, spare parts, consumption, etc. of each vehicle.
- Ensuring maintenance on the fleet of vehicles to be in perfect working order and that cars are serviced at the desired time to ensure good use of it and be able to deliver services.
- Looking after all equipment related to vehicles and driver. Ensuring the proper use of radios in vehicles, numbers, and codes, according to MSF protocols and procedures in place
-Specific activities:
- Filling up and checking the Fuel follow-up to ensure proper consumption at the end of each month
- Covering the security gap of Log supervisor
- Driving MSF cars when it’s needed
- Monitoring the service and maintenance of all MSF vehicles ensuring to be done at authorized sites
- Preparing the schedule of holidays for drivers to avoid a large amount of days left at the end of the period (Max 5 days by December of each year)
- Preparing the weekly movement plan for the whole project
- Preparing the monthly roster schedule for the drivers
- Preparing monthly meetings with drivers
- Preparing the yearly evaluation, and objective for all drivers
Archiving all the necessary documents to be always up to date
-Experience required:
-
- Essential: 2 years minimum of previous professional driving experience
- Desirable: Previous security focal point experience with MSF or other international NGO
-Required qualification:
- Essential: Academic “Brevet” from a recognized school in Lebanon.
- Essential: Valid Lebanese driving license
- Desirable: C1 public driving license
- Essential: Excellent command of the Arabic language
- Essential: Good command of the English language
- Desirable: Knowledge of the French Language
- Essential: Knowledge of mission area roads (Akkar-Tripoli)
- Essential experience with 4×4 vehicles
- Essential knowledge of basic mechanics
- Essential: Basic knowledge of MS. Office applications (Word, excel, outlook, …)
