Venture37 is seeking candidates for the Enumerator position for a 5-year Cooperative Development Program (CDP) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project will run until August 2023 and is in its third year of implementation. CDP is advancing dairy, horticulture, and maize cooperatives in Rwanda; horticulture and dairy cooperatives in Malawi; and Mouneh cooperative in Lebanon. The project aims to improve capacity, the enabling environment, and resources to meet the evolving needs of their members.
Description of the position:
Enumerators will have to survey a daily target of cooperative members to collect accurate data for the Social Capital and Perceived Value Survey. In-person digital data will be collected by electronic devices and daily movements to the field. Enumerators should be available on a full-time basis for the data collection expected between February 1, 2023, and February 27, 2023, and will also be required to attend a full day pre-training on data collection method and tool.
Enumerators will report to the MEL Specialist. After each working day, a team debriefing session will be held to report on the daily target reached, review the work done, discuss encountered issues, and plan for the next day. Enumerator’s performance will also be monitored and assessed through ongoing data quality checks.
CD4 program will organize field transportation.
Specific duties:
- Participate in a training on data collection and tool to be used
- Conduct a daily target of surveys with cooperative members
- Ensure that all questions have been asked and recorded correctly
- Visit different field locations
- Participate to daily debriefing sessions
- Coordinate closely with enumeration team and MEL Specialist
- Respect the time required for data collection, breaks and meals
- Respect the confidentiality of collected data
- Follow security measures
- Perform any other action necessary to the successful achievement of data collection objective
Qualifications, experience, and skills requirements:
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in face-to-face quantitative data collection
- At least 2 years of experience with electronic data collection applications (ODK, KoBo Toolbox, Survey CTO, CommCare, etc.)
- Fluency in spoken and written Arabic; full proficiency in spoken and written English
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in teams and personal accountability
- Experience working with USAID funded projects and/or non-governmental international organizations is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Agri-food business, or related disciplines is a plus
